Our Mission

The UMass Amherst Wildlife Project is an undergraduate-driven research study that aims to monitor levels of species diversity and patterns of habitat use for local populations of wildlife species inhabiting the wildland-urban interface across the Town of Amherst in western Massachusetts.

PORTFOLIO

Our Project

Since 2016, this project has explored the diversity of wildlife species that we share the town of Amherst with. Our cameras throughout the town help identify all the species present, their patterns of occurrence, and potentially human-wildlife interactions caused by urbanization.
If you happen to stumble across one of our cameras, please do not touch it but do let us know if you notice any issues!
